Public Speaking Badge Cadette Workshop

At this workshop Cadettes will work with

  1. an actor or director to practice public speaking vocal warm up exercises (“Find Your Voice”) and to rehearse cold readings (“Get a Feel for Performing Solo”)
  2. an actor or director to practice platform movement through exercises and games (“Focus on Body Language”)
  3. an actor or director to rehearse cuttings (“Choose or Create a Piece to Perform”) and readers theatre  (“Get Onstage”)

Sample cuttings will be sent to troop leaders prior to the workshop for the girls who will attend; Girl Scouts should bring the cuttings with them. If possible, Cadettes will tour the adjoining historic Missouri Theatre, a national landmark built in 1927, where RRT produces its musicals.

Additional Information: Only 15 slots are available for each workshop; girls may come as a troop or as an individual.  Girls will complete all steps in the badge; registration fee includes badge.  Parking is available in our parking lot.

Registration Requirements: All girls participating as a Girl Scout in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. If attending as a troop, all volunteers also need to be registered members and/or have completed and approved background checks. If non-registered individuals (adults or tags) are allowed to participate in this activity supplemental insurance is required. Use the Insurance Purchase Form to purchase insurance at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Completed forms can be emailed to
