Public Speaking Badge Cadette Workshop
At this workshop Cadettes will work with
- an actor or director to practice public speaking vocal warm up exercises (“Find Your Voice”) and to rehearse cold readings (“Get a Feel for Performing Solo”)
- an actor or director to practice platform movement through exercises and games (“Focus on Body Language”)
- an actor or director to rehearse cuttings (“Choose or Create a Piece to Perform”) and readers theatre (“Get Onstage”)
Sample cuttings will be sent to troop leaders prior to the workshop for the girls who will attend; Girl Scouts should bring the cuttings with them. If possible, Cadettes will tour the adjoining historic Missouri Theatre, a national landmark built in 1927, where RRT produces its musicals.
Additional Information: Only 15 slots are available for each workshop; girls may come as a troop or as an individual. Girls will complete all steps in the badge; registration fee includes badge. Parking is available in our parking lot.

Registration Requirements: All girls participating as a Girl Scout in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. If attending as a troop, all volunteers also need to be registered members and/or have completed and approved background checks. If non-registered individuals (adults or tags) are allowed to participate in this activity supplemental insurance is required. Use the Insurance Purchase Form to purchase insurance at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Completed forms can be emailed to email@example.com.
