Drop by the Dole Institute March 14 for an interactive, kid-friendly visit to discover the Dole Institute and Archives in Lawrence, KS. Drop-in activities include American flag crafts, puzzles, coloring, and museum scavenger hunts. Special attention paid to primary sources and the legacy of Senators Bob and Elizabeth Dole. Be a history detective and find all the clues in a photograph or document from the archives! Plan your campaign as a future leader by making your own campaign posters and buttons. Girl Scouts can learn more about a prominent woman trailblazer – Senator Elizabeth Dole – with a temporary, special exhibit only on display till May. Take a behind the scenes tour of the archives and the Elizabeth Dole special exhibit at 10:30, 11:30, and 12:30. Families with young children encouraged. All programs and events at the Dole Institute are free and open to the public.

Additional Info: Large, free parking lot available right outside the building.

Registration Requirements:  All girls participating as a Girl Scout in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. If attending as a troop, all volunteers also need to be registered members and/or have completed and approved background checks. If non-registered individuals (adults or tags) are allowed to participate in this activity supplemental insurance is required. Use the Insurance Purchase Form to purchase insurance at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Completed forms can be emailed to programapprovals@gsksmo.org.
