Former Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm devoted her career in public service to empowering citizens from underrepresented communities by living her message, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” Join the Dole Institute of Politics in an interactive program that teaches the importance of an inclusive American Democracy and asks your Girl Scouts to identify and portray their experiences, strengths, hopes, and dreams by designing a mini paper chair. Add your chair creation to our community wall installation to “take your seat at the table.” What matters to you? What do you bring to the table?

This workshop can also be offered as a You Schedule It.
