Virtual Democracy for Juniors
What is democracy and who represents me in government? Explore the new democracy badge in a virtual program with the Dole Institute of Politics. Learn about the three branches of government and the importance of local & state governments, test your knowledge of Presidential trivia, and find out about former Girl Scouts who have served on the Supreme Court. Girls will complete steps 1-5 in the Democracy for Juniors badge. Two (2) 45-minute virtual programs.
Session 1 will be held on October 13 at 5:00 P.M. and Session 2 will be held on October 20 at 5:00 P.M.
Girls who attend both sessions and complete homework assigned between sessions will complete all five steps of the Democracy for Juniors badge. Girls can purchase their completed badge by visiting www.gsksmo.org/shop.
- This program will be live on Zoom. You must register for the program to be sent the virtual Zoom meeting information.
- Please individually register each of your Girl Scouts (even if you are meeting in person altogether). This will help give an accurate count. If you are a leader who is having the girls watch together on one computer please email Julie Clover afterwards with how many girls were watching - this will also promote accurate counts.
Cost Per Person: FREE
Please be a sister to our Girl Scout partners. Our partners invest staff and financial resources to provide unique Girl Scout programming at no cost to our girls and their families/troops. This is one of those special opportunities. In order for our partners to continue offering low-cost and free programming to Girl Scouts, please notify them as soon as possible if you can no longer attend.
