Just Like You Films (JLYF) is a Mid American Emmy award winning women-run nonprofit film production company. Founded in 2009, JLYF has created 12 documentaries and is currently producing its first feature-length docu-drama. JLYF features real kids, parents, physicians, and award-winning public figures who care deeply about creating a kinder world through the power of film.
During this event, girls will learn the basics about being a good leader digitally. They will learn how to balance digital media use in their daily life, and how we can use digital media to change our lives and the lives of those in our community. We will teach the basics of movie making and challenged/encouraged to make a short movie to enter in to the Just Like You Movie Challenge which will be announced March 3 at our Power of Film event.
Materials needed: iPad or phone would be helpful but not required.
