
Flint Hills Discovery Center
The Flint Hills Discovery Center inspires people to celebrate, explore, and care for the Flint Hills. To accomplish this, we have developed an extensive array of exhibits and programs that are exciting, educational and authentic, so as to engage visitors of all ages from all walks of life.
The workshops at the Flint Hills Discovery Center and Sunset Zoo are designed to be completed in any order and can be scheduled on separate days or back-to-back for an entire day of fun and excitement. Between Earth & Sky
Daisy
Girls will explore the nature around them and the Flint Hills ecoregion by learning about soils, seeds, plants and more to further their journey towards the Blue Bucket, Firefly and Clover awards! They will dive into the world of soil by learning what is good and bad about soil, and learn how to preserve the Flint Hills, a national treasure.
Outcomes:

Wonders of Water
Brownie
Explore how the properties of water make it an important part of life. Girls will explore the importance of clean water in the Flint Hills and beyond through games and activities, as well as develop a historical appreciation for the importance of water and waterways. The workshop counts toward completion of their Love Water award requirements.
