KC Pet Project
KC Pet Project is the 3rd largest no-kill animal shelter in the United States. Our mission is to end the killing of healthy and treatable pets in Kansas City, Missouri by using the most progressive and lifesaving programs and promoting effective animal control policies.
Address: 4400 Raytown Rd. Kansas City, MO
YOU SCHEDULE IT! OPPORTUNITIES:
Create valuable canine enrichment items which benefit our 200 shelter dogs! Each troop will be given an educational tour of our facility which was originally designed to house construction equipment for Arrowhead Stadium. Since this facility was not originally designed to shelter 10,000 animals annually we have become creative with our animal care methods which include Canine Enrichment. After the tour, girls will learn how to make a variety of toys and treats which can include peanut butter “sandwiches”, puppy burritos, stuffed KONGS, enrichment boxes, and pupsicles. The girls will learn how each item positively affects our shelter dogs during their stay at KC Pet Project. Each visit will end with play time in either our free-roaming cat room or doggy play yards.
Cost Per Person: 1 donation item
Donation Items: Low sodium chicken, beef, or vegetable broth, low sugar pumpkin or sweet potato puree, dog treats, wet dog food, bananas, apples (diced, no core), peanut butter (no xylitol), carrots, and canned peas.
