Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Center

Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary aims to provide engaging hands on environmental and natural science education for all ages; the fostering of biodiversity of native plants and animals through the management of natural resources; an understanding that all of Earth’s inhabitants are part of interdependent and connected ecosystems; and opportunities for quiet reflection and reconnection with the natural world.

Covid precautions: programs are still currently all outdoors. We have a covered shelter as well as additional uncovered picnic tables available as programming spaces. Groups are to remain socially distanced during the program. All table surfaces and provided equipment (e.g. nets, binoculars, fishing poles) are disinfected with bleach before and after each program.  For the safety of staff and fellow attendees, mask use is highly encouraged. Indoor restrooms are available to attendees provided a mask is worn upon entering the facility.
