The Spencer Museum of Art

Located in Lawrence on the University of Kansas campus, the Spencer Museum of Art is a vibrant cultural center that sparks curiosity, inspires creativity, and creates connections among people through art.

Registration Requirements: All girls participating as a Girl Scout in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. If attending as a troop, all volunteers also need to be registered members and/or have completed and approved background checks. If non-registered individuals (adults or tags) are allowed to participate in this activity supplemental insurance is required. Use the Insurance Purchase Form to purchase insurance at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Completed forms can be emailed to programapprovals@gsksmo.org.

Parking Info: Accessible parking is available across the street from the Museum in the Mississippi Street Garage next to the Kansas Union at an hourly rate. Parking along Mississippi Street and in lot 91 behind the Museum is free after 5pm on weekdays and at all times on weekends. Please note that parking, including accessible spaces, is limited during KU football home games and other major events on campus, and may have increased costs.

Detective’s Eye Tour

Five Senses Tour

This tour connects the five senses to works of art at the Spencer. In addition to sight, we’ll experience the other four senses, by exploring sound and touch with a musical sculpture, imagine the tastes and smells of a 17th-Century still life painting with fruit and a dog, and much more!
