The Spencer Museum of Art

Located in Lawrence on the University of Kansas campus, the Spencer Museum of Art is a vibrant cultural center that sparks curiosity, inspires creativity, and creates connections among people through art.

Parking Info: Accessible parking is available across the street from the Museum in the Mississippi Street Garage next to the Kansas Union at an hourly rate. Parking along Mississippi Street and in lot 91 behind the Museum is free after 5pm on weekdays and at all times on weekends. Please note that parking, including accessible spaces, is limited during KU football home games and other major events on campus, and may have increased costs.

Cost: All museum events are free

Spencer Art Bingo

Pick up an Art Bingo card during open hours at the Spencer’s front desk. You can work in small groups or on your own to find works of art that match the clues. Once you’ve found them all, return to the front desk for a small prize. 

Spencer Art Cart

The Spencer Art Cart is a free drop-in activity station where children and grown-ups enjoy hands-on art projects together, taking inspiration from original works of art on view. Stop by anytime between 1PM and 4PM and stay as long as you like!

How to register: Please email Kristina Walker at kewalker@ku.edu to let her know how many Girls Scouts to expect, so we can make sure we have prepare enough materials.

Halloweenend in the Woods

Trick or tree! Explore the mysteries of Marvin Grove and make the sidewalks your runway to debut your Halloween costume. We’re rolling the Spencer Art Cart outdoors for tricks, treats, and art activities among the trees. Costumed canines and grown-ups are welcome, too!
