Join us at our Escape Room! All ages welcome. Time slots are 5pm, 6:30pm, and 8pm.

YOU SCHEDULE IT! OPPORTUNITIES:

Pottery

 All Levels 

Girl Scouts!  Come play in the clay!! Girl Scouts can either learn to hand build their own piece of pottery or learn to throw pottery on the wheel. Every piece will need to be bisque fired. Girl Scouts will need to have a second trip out to glaze and have their pieces refired. The potter’s wheel can be scheduled once they have completed a hand building course.

Cost Per Girl: $25 per girl (includes 1 pound of clay, glaze, & 2 firings) 
Cost Per Adult: N/A unless the adult chooses to do a piece with the Girl Scouts.

Paint or Glaze Ceramics

 All Levels 

Schedule your Troop to come learn different techniques around painting and glazing a piece of ceramics.  Groups can choose their pieces (including Girl Scout themeded pieces) when they arrive or call ahead and order the same piece to be available for their troop.  If items are glazed they will be available for pick up one week later. 

Cost Per Girl: Price varies depending on the size of piece and starts at $5. No glaze, studio, or firing fees (included in the prize of the piece).
Cost Per Adult: N/A, unless the adult chooses to do a piece with the Girl Scouts.

Glass Fusing

Older Girl Scouts can learn to cut glass shapes and attach them to form many different pieces. Girl Scouts can create necklace pendants, ornaments or even their own creative ideas.  These pieces will need to be fired before they can go home. They will be able to be picked up in a couple of days after class.

Cost Per Girl: $20 necklace pendant, $30 ornament, $40 for a 6x6 size.
Cost Per Adult: N/A, unless the adult chooses to do a piece with the Girl Scouts.

Copper Enameling

Learn the art of enameling, or melting glass on copper. Girl Scouts will create a necklace pendant or pair of earrings. Girl Scouts will learn to work with powdered glass and high heat! Girl Scouts will be working with loose particles of glass, non-toxic chemicals, and a hot kiln. They will be helping "cook" their piece.

Cost Per Girl: $25 
Cost Per Adult: N/A unless the adult chooses to do a piece with the Girl Scouts.

Journey Workshops
5 Flower, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals

 Daisy

Girl Scouts will learn about different animals and the conditions in which they live. Choose from:

Create a clay animal sculpture: Girl Scouts can choose any animal and create it out of clay. They will be able to paint and decorate the animal as they would like. Cost includes 1 pound of clay, glaze, and 2 firings.

Create a bird house: Girl Scouts will use a round, recycled container and cut holes in it to make a bird house. After, they will be able to decorate the house with any design as they wish. Cost includes 1 pound of clay, glaze, and 2 firings.

Paint an animal on canvas. Girl Scouts can choose to paint any animal on an 11x14 canvas. In doing this they could decorate the canvas with actual scenery in the background. Cost includes canvas and paint.

Between Earth and Sky

Girl Scouts will learn about colors and how they affect your mood. Girl Scouts can choose to either create Origami animals or make a flower from scrapbook paper. We will discuss what emotions we want to depict before creating our project.

Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden

It's gardening time! Girl Scouts will be able to learn more about the aspects of gardening. Choose to:

Paint a Flower Pot: Girl Scouts will be able to pick a pot and choose what to paint on them. They could choose anything from scenery like trees and flowers to fun designs

Make clay plant markers: Girl Scouts can choose to do three clay plant markers in which you will make a stake out of clay and decorate it as they wish.  The clay plant markers will need to be fired twice before they can go home.

Cost Per Girl: $15 (includes a 1/2 pound of clay, glaze, & 2 firings)

Journey Connections: Daisy Journey: Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden

A World of Girls

 Brownie

Girl Scouts will explore different cultures and how their art influences our lives. Girls Scouts will then get a chance to explore another culture’s art by doing their very own project.  Troops can choose from painting henna patterns on an 8x10 canvas or a simple batik fabric dying.

This class can fulfill a couple steps in the Painting badge depending on the project chosen.

Brownie Quest

Girl Scouts, prior to attending this workshop, will research their family and bring photos or copies of family articles to include in a collage.  Be sure to know your Grandparents/Parents names!  Then, Girl Scouts will create a family tree using mixed media on an 8x10 canvas by combining paint and photos to create their very own family tree.

This class also fulfills a couple steps in the My Family Story and Painting badges.

WOW! Wonders of Water

 Brownie 

Just keep swimming! Girl Scouts will learn what fish need and the ways to prevent pollution in order to help the fish survive. Girl Scouts will be able to turn a pinch pot fish into a vase or planter. Sculpt a fish out of clay or Recycle a plastic bottle into art. They can create a fish out of a plastic bottle and decorate it with fun, bright colors. This class can be applied to the Potter badge if you do the clay fish pinch pot.

Cost Per Girl: $15 for the pinch pot (includes 1/2 pound of clay, glaze, & 2 firings) & $10 for the recycled bottle art

Agent of Change

 Junior

Girl Scouts will do a mixed media 8x10 collage inspired by women in history who had the power to make change in their world.  Prior to attending this workshop, Girl Scouts will identify a woman from history and come prepared to express what made her amazing through collage.  The collage will convey what the woman did to warrant her place in history and what her work meant for the generations of girls and women whom followed her. Has she influenced other famous woman?

This class also fulfills a couple steps in the Junior Drawing Badge.

GET MOVING!

 Junior

Recycle, repurpose, reuse! Girl Scouts will learn about the many ways artists use found materials to create art. Girl Scouts can choose from making a purse from a jean pocket, make paper beads and create a necklace, or make found objects creatures.  Learn to see trash in a new light!

This class also can fulfill a step in the Junior Jewelry badge if Girl Scouts choose beads as their project.
