Blanket Buddies Program

 All Levels

The Blanket Buddies program is an opportunity for Girl Scouts to provide handmade fleece blankets to children and adolescents in our medical rehabilitation day program as they leave for the winter holiday break. These blankets provide an invaluable comfort item to a child who is working hard in physical, occupational and/or speech therapy to achieve the best possible personal outcome.

Troops have the option to make one of three different sizes of lap-sized blankets. We have infants – toddlers, children ages 5-12 and adolescents (13-19).

We will be planning specific drop off dates where troops can take a tour and learn more about the work of Ability KC.

Additional info: We can provide a pattern for the blankets. Troops are asked to provide the materials and make the blankets at their troop meeting and then deliver to Ability KC.

How to register: Please contact Joan Tamburini at Joan.tamburini@abilitykc.org or (816) 851-7759 before beginning the project.
