Your GS Experience & the College Search: Seniors Workshop

 Senior

In this workshop for Seniors, girls will learn how their Girl Scout experience can make them stronger candidates for college and inform their college search. Educational consultant Becky Claster will discuss what colleges are looking for and how to develop your qualifications, as well as how to identify schools that will be a great fit. Participants will also receive a timeline for preparation and applications, including standardized testing and financial aid. By the end of the event Girl Scouts will be well-prepared to complete Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the College Knowledge badge.

Additional info: Minimum of 12 girls needed for the class.

Materials needed:  Computer or device to watch the webinar, paper and pen for note-taking.

Cost Per Girl: $15

Educational consultant Becky Claster will discuss what colleges are looking for and how to highlight your qualifications, as well as how to identify schools that will be a great fit. Participants will also receive a timeline of the application process, guidance on standardized testing, and an overview of the financial aid system. By the end of the event Girl Scouts will be well-prepared to complete Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the College Knowledge badge.

In this webinar, we’ll discuss the qualifications Girl Scouts have that colleges want and how to showcase your unique strengths, talents and experiences in your college applications. Girls will complete step 2 in the College Knowledge badge. 

For a special Girl Scout rate of $99, add a 30-minute individual consultation to get feedback on your draft application.

College Essay Strategies for Girl Scouts

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to write an effective personal statement and great supplemental essays for each college and how your Girl Scout experience can help you do that. The webinar covers: how essays are used in admissions; choosing topics; writing tips for personal statements and school-specific essays; Dos and Don’ts; brainstorming exercises; and a suggested timeline. Girls will complete step 2 in the College Knowledge badge.

For a special Girl Scout rate of $99, add a 30-minute individual consultation on whatever you need most: finalizing topics, brainstorming for school-specific questions, crafting a “why” or “fit” essay, feedback on rough drafts, or final proofread.

Additional info: Minimum of 12 girls needed for the class.
