Girl Coders

Girl Coders is an extended Girl Scout Gold Award project aiming to combat the gender gap by offering entry-level coding workshops to encourage young girls to experience STEM in positive, empowering ways. We encourage troop leaders to host coding workshops for Girl Scouts, and we offer free patches to the girls after they complete the workshop as a physical reminder of her accomplishment in completing a coding education program.

YOU SCHEDULE IT! OPPORTUNITIES:

Coding Patch Workshop

  All Levels

Girl Coders program inspires girls to take the very first step towards their STEM journey. No coding experience is necessary for the troop leaders or Girl Scouts. Each of our workshops is a one-time, two-hour event that could by easily hosted during a regular troop meeting. The curriculum, available for a variety of popular and widely-used coding languages and tools, is designed to be accessible and self-contained. After completing a workshop, all girls receive a free embroidered patch as a physical reminder of her accomplishment in completing a coding education program.

Cost: N/A
