StoneLion Puppet Theatre

Using multiple styles of puppetry, including marionettes, masks, shadow, mouth, and rod puppets, StoneLion Puppet Theatre brings the magic of world-class puppet shows right to your doorstep! Shows are fresh, original and educational and can be performed for 30 or 1000.

Additional Information: Each workshop runs 45-60 minutes with a maximum number of 20 Girl Scouts at a time.

Location: We come to you!

Cost: $200 for each workshop (up to 20 participants). All materials provided.

Registration Requirements:  All girls participating as a Girl Scout in these activities must be registered Girl Scout members. If attending as a troop, all volunteers also need to be registered members and/or have completed and approved background checks. If non-registered individuals (adults or tags) are allowed to participate in this activity supplemental insurance is required. Use the Insurance Purchase Form to purchase insurance at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Completed forms can be emailed to programapprovals@gsksmo.org.

It’s Your World-Change It! Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden

  Daisy

  • Stain Glass Mosaic Butterfly Workshop
    Create a mosaic butterfly puppet and companion tissue paper flower. Explore patterning and symmetry while discussing our planet around us and how fragile it is. 45-60 minutes.
  • Caterpillar Puppet Workshop
    Learn the three stages of metamorphosis while making a turn-about sock puppet. Caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Discuss the planet around us and how we can each make a difference. 45-60 minutes.
  • Recycled Garden Workshop
    Use recycled materials to create a garden and a bee to live in it. Each participant will make soil, groundcover, flowers and pollinator to inhabit your garden. Discuss habitats, pollution and the importance of pollinators in our world. 45-60 minutes.

  • I Am My Own Superhero Rod Puppet Workshop
    Each participant will create a “selfie” rod puppet as our Brownies imagine what super power they would have and why. Discussion on self-worth and choosing your own path to success. 60 minutes

  • Who Will I Be? Rod Puppet Workshop
    Each participant will create a short resume on who they want to be and create a rod puppet to exemplify that image. The girls will share their creation and dreams at the close of the class. 60 minutes

  • Native Bird Habitat Puppets
    Learn about habitats and how pollution effects them while creating a simple rod puppet and its own paper plate habitat. Leaders will choose either the bird or fish option at the time of booking. 45-60 minutes

WOW! Wonders of Water

  • Pop-Up Fish Habitat Puppets
    Discuss how water pollution affects everything in the water and on land as the girls create a simple fish puppet and it’s habitat. 45-60 minutes
  • Recycled Art with Water Bottles
    Create a colorful wind catcher using water bottles while learning how plastic is the number one pollutant on our planet…and is completely reusable and recyclable. 45-60 minutes
  • Native Fish Habitat Puppets
    Learn about habitats and how pollution effects them while creating a simple rod puppet and its own paper plate habitat. Leaders will choose either the bird or fish option at the time of booking. 45-60 minutes

It’s Your Story – Tell It! 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals!

    Talk about girls from around the world and while we look different, dress different we are all fundamentally the same. Then create your own rod puppet. Examples will be given and fun will be had. 45-60 minutes
  • Kachina Mask Making Workshop
    Native Hopi and Navajo culture is explored with the unique world of the Kachina. Each participant will create their own mask. 45-60 minutes

  • Explore your Imagination! Workshop
    Create your own rod puppet persona and write a short skit or commercial. Your imagination is the limit! Specific themes can be utilized or tailored to each troop. 60 minutes
