Introduction to Horses

 Brownie   Junior   Cadette   Senior   Ambassador

The class will follow the guidelines so Juniors can earn their Horseback Riding badge.  We teach safety as the very first part of the class.  Talking about how horses learn and interact with not only each other but humans and other animals. Talking about predator and prey the horses vision and their fight or flight reactions. The girls will be taught how and the importance of grooming a horse. They will learn the basic tack used and some basic training techniques. They will also be taught how to mount, dismount, stop and steer the horse. We will also teach them about treats and feed. We allow plenty of time for questions and petting. All girls will be required to wear a helmet before they can actually go hands-on with horses.    

Additional info: Helmets are required to ride and are provided by our facility. Masks are optional.

Cost per girl: $20 (reduced rate can be offered if needed)
Cost per adult: $20 (only if riding)
