Exploring Culture, Exploring Art
Girl Scouts have the opportunity to learn about Latino Culture and traditions through visual arts activities inspired by our art collection! During this colorful, enriching experience, girls will gain cross-cultural understanding as well as an appreciation for art. Depending on the time of year, your troop can select from the following themes: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Mexican Folk Art, or The Art of the Mask. After an educational introduction, Girl Scouts will engage in related art activities using a variety of mediums including sewing, painting, sculpture, found object, and collage. This is a natural tie for Girl Scouts working their way through A World of Girls, but a great fit for all Girl Scouts.
