The mission of the Museum of the Kansas National Guard is to preserve and present the militia heritage of the Kansas Army and Air National Guard. This is done through museum exhibits, presentations, and special events.

Guided Museum Tours

Location: The Museum is located at 125 SE Airport E. Drive, Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas (main entrance to Forbes Field). Parking is located on both sides and in front of the Museum.

​The Museum of the Kansas National Guard is excited to provide Girl Scouts with a historical tour of Kansas military history, beginning with the Civil War and continuing through the global War on Terrorism. This guided tour of over a 150 inside and 35 outside exhibits also includes a variety of hands-on experiences all within 60 minutes.  

The museum is open 10-4 Mon-Sat, and admission is always free.

Registration Requirements:  All girls participating as a Girl Scout in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. If attending as a troop, all volunteers also need to be registered members and/or have completed and approved background checks. If non-registered individuals (adults or tags) are allowed to participate in this activity supplemental insurance is required. Use the Insurance Purchase Form to purchase insurance at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Completed forms can be emailed to programapprovals@gsksmo.org.
