Bullying Prevention Workshops for Juniors and Cadettes

 Junior   Cadette

Location: The Willow Domestic Violence Center 1920 Moodie Road, Lawrence, KS 66047

The Willow offers activities for Cadettes including “Cyber Bullying” and “Love ‘Em Or Leave ‘Em: Friendship,” both of which complement the aMAZE Journey. Activities for Juniors are offered as well, including “Back Talk” and “Empowering Profiles,” both of which complement the aMUSE Journey. Each hour-long activity includes presentation, discussion, and either a game or art project. Choose to do one activity or two as best works for your troop’s schedule and needs, or partner with another troop to come together and strengthen friendships between troops.

Cyber Bullying
Bullying can be tough anywhere, but cellphones and the Web have taken an age-old problem to new heights. Discover the roles bullies, victims, and bystanders play in Internet harassment and how you can refuse to be a part of the problem.

Love ‘Em or Leave ‘Em
This fun educational game allows girls to actively explore the twists and turns friendship can take and how it feels to decide your own boundaries and priorities. This activity focuses on stereotypes, healthy relationships, and personal agency.

Back Talk
Confront the way rumors and gossip hurt feelings and destroy social circles. Learn how to stand up to bullies and verbal violence in a game that requires you to both “walk the walk” and “talk the talk.”

Empowering Profiles
Join us as we sift through the words and phrases in print and advertisement to identify the things and ideas that best describe who you are and who you want to be. Self-discovery and definition result in a beautiful work of art for you to take home and share with others.

*Please note:The Willow can only hold 15 people on-site. For larger groups, Willow staff will come to you.
