Host workshops on advanced outdoor cooking, lashing, etc.

Teach Cadette level Girl Scouts how to lead and support their younger Girl Scout sisters.

NEW LEADER EXPRESS - TROOP FUNDAMENTALS TRAINER
New Leader Express Part 2: Troop FUNdamentals is an in-person training that provides new troop leaders with the basics of planning and conducting troop meetings.

BE MORE, DO MORE TRAINER
This enrichment training is designed for veteran troop leaders who want to adapt their coaching techniques to build leadership skills in girls. 

SPANISH/ENGLISH NEW LEADER TRAINER
Attend & learn English training; provide Spanish version of training to new troop leaders.

SPANISH/ENGLISH COOKIE PROGRAM TRAINER
Attend & learn English training; provide Spanish version of training to volunteer troop cookie program managers.

SENIOR/AMBASSADOR JOURNEY WEEKEND
Sept. 21 - 22

Brownie Home Scientist: Nov. 9, 9 AM - 12PM & 1 - 4 PM
Help facilitate, supervise, and assist Brownie girls in earning their Brownie Home Scientist Safety Badge
Junior Animal Habitats Day: Oct. 5, 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Help facilitate, supervise, and assist Junior girls in earning their Animal Habitats Badge
Junior Citizen Science Weekend: Oct. 19 - 20
Help facilitate, supervise, and assist Junior girls in earning their Citizen Science Journey

CAMP CLEANUP / IMPROVEMENT / MAINTENANCE
Projects could range anywhere from painting to minor repairs, clearing trails, cleaning buildings, putting up signage, etc.

IMPROVEMENT/MAINTENANCE
Various tasks (painting, checking climbing holds, clearing trails, maintaining road edges, installing signage)

SERVICE SUNDAYS
Sept 8, 1-4 PM & Oct. 6, 1-4 PM

Service projects could range anywhere from painting to minor repairs, clearing trails, cleaning buildings putting up signage, etc. Troops and families are welcome, please make sure children are a minimum of 5 years of age. Come out for an hour or stay for the whole session.

DAISY ADVENTURE DAY
Intro to outdoors and adventure for Daisies event

DAY CAMPS - opportunities will be updated in 2020
Outdoor camps May - August hosted at the local community level.
Camp Tongawood - Tongaknoxie, KS
Camp Prairie Schooner - Kansas City, MO

EXCURSIONS
Council sponsored outdoor adventures in and outside council boundaries.

OUTDOOR STEM BADGE DAYS
Council sponsored day long events devoted to girls earning various outdoor STEM related badges

OUTREACH TROOP MEETING VOLUNTEER
The Outreach Program serves girls in after-school programs in economically disadvantaged parts of the Kansas City. The program is funded through grants so that finances are not an obstacle to participation. The girls have weekly troop meetings during the school year, go on field trips and to camp each year. It’s our goal to create an equitable Girl Scout experience for some of our girls that need it the most. Since Outreach troops tend to be large, we can always use some extra hands during troop meetings and at events.

ASTRONOMY CLUB
Facilitate learning for girls in astronomy and STEAM.

STEM GUEST SPEAKER
Head to a troop meeting to talk to girls about your career in STEM.  If there is time in the troop meeting, you can also do a fun activity (provided by GS staff) with the girls.

STEAM INTEREST TROOP HELPER AND/OR PROGRAM EXPERT
Provide your expert STEAM knowledge by creating and facilitating program experiences for girls or assisting others support these activities.
