Event Description
This is a fun, hands-on
gardening workshop for girls in 4th and 5th grades - Badge Included!
Girls will:
- Visit a Garden o Stroll through a beautiful garden noting design elements and a variety of trees, shrubs, flowers, fountains, etc.
- Plant flowers in the garden
- Design Their Dream Butterfly Garden o Learn about different theme gardens
- View a garden spacing demonstration. Select 6 plants and calculate number of plants needed for their 4’ x 12’ garden
- Sketch out their design in booklet
- Observe how different conditions (soil,
water, sunlight) effect plant growth. Grow their own plant to take
home.
