Bronze Award | Girl Scouts

Make your community a better place.

It all starts here. Juniors team up with fellow Girl Scouts to explore their community, discover a need or issue they care about, and work together to address it. It’s a chance to create a plan and make an impact on the community they live in.

You can become a Bronze Award Girl Scout if you:

Are in fourth or fifth grade
Are a registered Girl Scout Junior
Have completed a Junior Leadership Award

Bronze Award requirements:

You are in fourth or fifth grade.
You are a registered Girl Scout Junior.
You have completed a Girl Scout Leadership Award (new in 2025!). New Leadership Awards for Juniors are the Personal Leadership Award, Teaching Leadership – Junior Aide Award, and the Community Advocacy Awards (Take Action and Global Action).

Before you get started

Before submitting your proposal, you should thoroughly research your topic. Form a project plan, but do not begin working on your project until after submitting your Project Proposal to GSKSMO.

Build your Girl Scout Junior team.
Explore your community to learn more about issues that interest you and how they affect your community.
Decide on a project to work on and make a plan of action.

STOP: If planning a Bronze Award project on a camp property, please follow these steps toggle arrow

Contact campdept@gsksmo.org to discuss your project idea, timeframe, and options.
After discussing your project with our Camps Department, submit a Highest Award – Camp Project Request Form.
Upon approval of your camp project from the Camp Department, continue to your Project Proposal.

After completing your project, work together as a troop to answer the questions in this PDF. This will help you reflect on your project and explain how you met the Bronze Award requirements. This will also make completing the GSKSMO Bronze Award Final Report form easy.

Once this form is approved, you can purchase your pins. We encourage you to celebrate and share your accomplishments!
