The new Girl Scout Leadership Awards recognize all the ways you lead yourself, your team, and your community. They focus on developing essential skills that create a meaningful impact and gaining the confidence to turn ideas into action. These awards provide flexible options that let you explore and define your own leadership style; you get to lead in a way that feels right for you. Because leadership isn’t just about being in charge, it’s about learning, growing, and making a difference. These awards also offer new pathways to Highest Awards—earning one leadership award fulfills all the requirements for the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards!

Junior

True North Award (Personal Leadership) - Is there something you’ve been wanting to do that takes courage? Maybe you’re ready to try something new, have a hard conversation, or show support for what you believe in (even if others disagree). This award is your chance to make it happen— and grow as a leader!

Junior Aide Award (Teaching Leadership) - As a Girl Scout, you’ve already practiced being a leader. Leading means helping others and making things better, however that looks for you. Do you want to take the lead with younger kids? Here’s your chance to share your skills, plan fun activities, and find your unique way of being a leader. You have so much to offer!

Take Action and Global Action Awards (Community Advocacy Awards) - As a Girl Scout, you have the power to make a difference for animals, people, and our planet! With friends or fellow Girl Scouts, create a project that addresses a community issue. Take Action projects address local challenges, while Global Action projects explore how communities worldwide have approached similar issues.

Silver Torch Award - If you’re ready to be a great teammate, this award is for you! As part of a team in your school, place of worship, or community organization, you’ll find out what motivates people and inspires positive change. The leadership skills you develop now will help you make a difference wherever you go—from sports teams to service projects to anything else that matters to you.

True North Award (Personal Leadership) - Ready to try something bold? Maybe you want to plan a trip, make a new friend, or audition for a solo performance. Find out how to use your values and practice leadership as you choose, plan, and carry out your own courageous act.

Program Aide Award (Teaching Leadership) - Leadership looks different for every person, and in this award, you’ll find out what it looks like for you. As a Program Aide, you’ll transform some of your favorite activities into engaging experiences for younger children. In doing so, you’ll help build their confidence as well as your own. These leadership skills will open doors everywhere—in school, future jobs, and any role you take on. Get ready to see what you can do!

Take Action and Global Action Awards (Community Advocacy Awards) - Create positive change in your community! With friends or fellow Girl Scouts, develop a project that addresses a community issue. Take Action projects address local challenges, while Global Action projects explore how communities worldwide have approached similar issues.

Gold Torch Award - Ready to inspire others? The Gold Torch award helps you turn ideas into action, bring people together, and create meaningful change. As you lead, you’ll unlock doors to incredible opportunities and discover just how powerful your voice and ideas can be!
