This high-energy, digital scavenger hunt brings 1,000+ Girl Scouts together for a day of teamwork, adventure, and problem-solving, all culminating in a celebratory awards experience.
Beginning and ending at Science City at Union Station, the Amazing Race spans iconic Kansas City destinations—including the River Market and The Plaza—utilizing the KC Streetcar to create a highly visible, citywide experience.
New in 2026: Adult & Corporate Race
For the first time, adults – including corporate teams and Girl Scout alumnae – can join the experience through a dedicated afternoon race and networking-focused after-party. It’s a unique way to connect, compete, and engage with the Girl Scout mission in a fresh, interactive way.

What are the challenges like?
Amazing Race challenges are designed to encourage girls to explore Kansas City, discover new places, and participate in fun activities throughout the event.
Some challenges are hosted by volunteers, sponsors, or community partners and may include interactive games, activities, or experiences at designated stops. Others are self-guided and encourage teams to visit local landmarks, public art, businesses, and destinations around the city.
Text Challenges 
Text challenges ask teams to respond to prompts through short written answers submitted in the app. Teams may answer questions, solve clues, share creative responses, or complete prompts tied to a specific location or activity. Example challenges could include describing architectural features on a building, getting a secret code word from a volunteer, or keeping track of how many dogs they see along their race!
Photo Challenges
Photo challenges encourage teams to explore Kansas City while capturing fun moments throughout the race. Teams may be asked to take photos at murals, landmarks, parks, or local businesses, recreate a reference photo, or document themselves completing a themed activity. Examples might include taking a photo in front of a specific mural, recreating a historic KC image, or capturing a picture of the team completing an activity.
Video Challenges
Video challenges invite teams to submit short videos completing fun prompts or activities throughout the event. These challenges are designed to be lighthearted, creative, and interactive. Examples could include creating a team cheer, performing a dance move, or filming the team completing an activity.
Quiz Challenges
Quiz and trivia challenges test teams’ observation skills and knowledge of Kansas City through multiple choice questions, clues, and location-based prompts. Some challenges may require participants to explore an area to uncover the answer. Examples could include answering questions like “What year was this building built?”, identifying details on a historical marker, or answering safety questions.
Other Challenges
The possibilities are nearly endless! Our team can work with you to create custom challenges that fit your organization, location, or activity. Additional challenge types may include GPS check-in challenges, QR code challenges, poll or voting challenges, and informational challenges that reward teams for learning more about a featured location, business, or community partner. Whether it’s a simple stop along the route or a fully interactive experience, challenges can be designed to help girls explore the city in fun and engaging ways.
