Kansas National Guard Museum (125 SE Airport E. Drive, Topeka, KS 66619)
This hands-on STEM Day will provide Girl Scouts with the opportunity to meet female pilots, visit aircraft, learn about the principles of flight, and discover careers in aviation in both the military and civilian sectors.
The day will begin at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard with juice & cookies at 8 a.m. Programming will begin at 9:00 a.m. with presentations by civilian and military pilots, hands-on experiments led by KS STARBASE staff, a variety of presentations on aviation and careers for girls in aviation, and tours of the Museum and aircraft. Presenters will include military and civilian pilots, crew members, and mechanics of both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, an emergency flight nurse, the 99’s Women’s Pilots Assn, Aviation Explorers, the Civil Air Patrol, and possibly a sky diver.
Girls will travel to the Combat Air Museum next door at 11:30 a.m. to see and tour aircraft such as a Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker, Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk; hear members of the Professional Women Controllers explain the air traffic control system; enjoy hands-on aviation activities; learn from area aviation organizations; see our newly arrived McDonnell Douglas F-15A Eagle; fly our flight simulator and tour the Combat Air Museum.
This is an excellent event for families or troops; tag-alongs are welcome to join.
Participants should bring their lunches. Dress for indoor and outdoor activities. Troop leaders should stay with their girls through all activities.
Girls will receive a Girls in Aviation Patch.

Events start at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard promptly at 9 AM, located at 125 SE Airport E. Drive, Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas (main entrance to Topeka Regional Airport). Parking is located on both sides and in front of the Museum.
Registration closes on 9/6/25.
This is not a drop-off event. Troop leaders or caregivers must ensure safety ratio is ensured per Safety Activity Checkpoint.
