Join the Kansas Historical Society and the Kansas State Capitol
Visitors Center for a fun-filled Democracy badge workshop! Girl Scouts
will tour the Capitol and learn about the three branches of
government. They will also learn how legislation is created! This is a
unique, fun experience in the Topeka, KS area that you do not want to miss.

Location: Kansas State Capitol, SW 8th Ave and SW Van Buren
Street, Topeka, KS 66612

Supervision: This is NOT a drop-off event. Troop
Leaders/caregivers are required to provide an appropriate
ADULT-to-Girl Scout safety ratio and supervision for their attending
Girl Scout and/or troop throughout the event/activity, per the Girl
Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints.

Tagalongs: No, tagalongs are not allowed.

Cost: $10 per participant (Democracy Badge Included)

What to Expect/Additional Information:
- Space is limited to 40 participants in total (includes girls
and adults). We ask that only participating Girl Scouts and required
adults register for this event.
- Arrival: The building opens
at 10:00 a.m. and the first historic tour begins at 10:05 a.m.
Please arrive on time to avoid program delays.
Parking & Arrival
- Street parking is available on SW Jackson and SW Harrison.
Meter parking is free on Saturday. Visitors must enter and exit the
building through the SW 8th Avenue ground-level doors. All visitors
must go through the Capitol Police Security checkpoint.
