For many activities, Girl Scouts recommends that at least one adult volunteer be first aid/CPR certified. It is required for any overnight trips, camping, or high-risk activities.
Adult CPR courses hosted by the council:
Adult Volunteers: Join us for an upcoming CPR course with a portion underwritten by the Carolyn Hodges Great Save Fund. Fees cannot be transferred and are non-refundable.
Other Access Options
You can take advantage of first aid/CPR training offered by chapters of the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, EMP America, or other sponsoring organizations approved by your council.
Take age-specific CPR training, too—that is, take child CPR if you’re working with younger girls and adult CPR when working with older girls and adults.
First aid, CPR, and AED programs contain step-by-step, hands-on training that will allow participants to respond effectively in emergency and life-threatening situations. Session lengths and fees vary depending on the organization/course you select.
CAUTION: First aid/CPR training that is available entirely online does not satisfy Girl Scouts’ requirements. Such courses do not offer enough opportunities to practice and receive feedback on your technique. If you’re taking a course not offered by one of the organizations listed in the "Access Options" paragraph above or any course with online components, get approval from your support team or council.

REQUIRED - This online training MUST be completed at least three days before your scheduled skills assessment date. The in-person skills assessment is required to be a Camping 102 certified Girl Scout Volunteer.
At least one adult in each camping group must complete this course before your outdoor camping trip and must be present during the duration of your outdoor campout. We encourage having multiple adults with Camping 102 training during campouts.
